In performing our research, IAMER puts a strong emphasis on two major ideas for our experimental procedures: play and creativity. We have found that these are the most effective methods for producing a positive experience for both researchers and research subjects, as well as providing the most dependable results.

A Hawk's LifeSaturday, 2:30pm
Visitors will participate in a game-based study investigating the behavior of the red-tailed hawk. Participants will compete as red-tailed hawks surviving the frigid Minnesota Winter. Interested researchers should meet at the IAMER research lab. |

Study in Collaborative Improvisational Music PerformanceSaturday, 2:30pm
Visitors will participate in a study examining different roles involved in spontaneous collaborative creation. Participants will have the opportunity to manufacture their own instruments, and then utilize them in a structured improvisational performance on the ice. Instrument making will take place between noon and 2pm. Interested researchers should meet at the IAMER research, instrument making is optional for study participants. |
Feb 6th |
Bird's Eye ViewSaturday, 2:30pm
Visitors will create their own subjective maps of the Art Shanty projects. Throughout the weekend IAMER staff will be collecting aerial kite-borne photographs of the Art Shanty region, visitors are invited to participate. Interested researchers should meet at the IAMER research lab. |

ConstellationsWednesday, 8:00pm
Participants will create star maps with constellations of their own. Interested researchers should meet at the IAMER research lab. |
